"Mt. Fuji and Five-story Pagoda (Chureito) in Winter"
Mt. Fuji looks more overwhelming with snow on top. On a clear day in winter, the contrast of three colors of blue sky, white snow, and the red pagoda is fascinating.
The sun-lit Mt. Fuji shines in gold with autumn leaves. The autumn clouds are also characteristic in shapes, so this is the best season to photograph the clouds performing over Mt. Fuji.

Kanadorii (Bronze torii gate)
Kana-dorii was built as a "gate" to invite Mt. Fuji worshippers, and as a "border" to divide earthly life from the spiritual world of Mt. Fuji. It was regarded a sacred object to make people who walk through it enter the world of belief. According to records, the torii gate was originally built in 1788, but natural hazards such as storms repeatedly broke the gate, so it was reconstructed many times. The present gate is built in 1957, and is loved as a landmark of Fujiyoshida City. The dimensions are 9.88m high, 7.9m wide (inside pillars), the width of the top beam is 13.4m, and the pillar diameter is 0.88m. The tablet on the torii reads "Fuji-san."

A good spot to take photographs. You can take photos with a feeling of the season here, such as the ones with paddy fields (a symbol of spring) and Mt. Fuji altogether. Many photos which had entered Fujiyoshida City Photography Competition were shot here.
