A festival to enjoy one of the most scenic views in all of Japan
Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture is situated at the base of Mt. Fuji, at an altitude between app. 650m and 850m, and serves as the northern entrance to the mountain. The sacred mountain can be seen up close from anywhere in the city.
At Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda), the most popular Mt. Fuji viewing spots in the Fuji Five Lakes area, the magnificent scenery mesmerizes visitors from around the country and the world each year. Especially in spring, many visitors come to this spot to photograph symbolic Japanese scenery of cherry blossoms, Mt. Fuji and the pagoda.
The Arakurayama Sengen Park Cherry Blossom Festival is held just as roughly 650 plants of someiyoshino variety cherry blossoms come into full bloom. The event has stage events and many stalls selling local delicacies to entertain the visitors in spring. We await your visit!
