"Hataorimachi" Festival (Weaving Town Festival)

In Fujiyoshida City at the foot of Mt. Fuji, a textile industry utilizing the spring water of the mountain has continued for more than 1,000 years. It is rare that such a variety of textiles are produced in one area, and recently, many factory brands are emerging from here. The city maintains the old-time atmosphere with neighborhoods lined with houses that were once the homes of weavers, and backstreet bars that boomed in the the town's heyday. The Hataorimachi Festival, Hata-Fes for short, is an autumnal festival held to celebrate the history and legacy of this old-time town.

■Contents / Venue
○ Weaving Factory Festival
This year, an event will be held in each of the local factories. In the main site, there will be displays and talk shows about weaving. The markets of various factory brands and creators' items will also be held in this site.

○ Yoshida-town Secondhand Market
Secondhand shops from all over the country, variety shops for you to re-discover the charm of handicrafts, and a workshop using re-used wooden materials will open here, with stands to serve delicious foods.

○ Workshop/Concerts
Several sites other than the above two venues will also have events. This year, there will be more events than ever including workshops, concerts, and the shops utilizing abandoned houses, collaborating with Hata-Fes.

○ Weaving factory bus tour
A bus tour to visit factories is available four times a day for two days! This fulfilling tour of factories and factory shops also visits the events specially held in the day of Hata-Fes, such as rakugo and jazz sessions, experience of dyeing, needle punch, etc.
