Run to the summit! A very popular marathon staged on Mt. Fuji
This mountain race staged in Mt. Fuji is one of the prominent marathon races in Japan, and is held on the fourth Friday of July every year. The racing route is from the city hall of Fujiyoshida City at the altitude of 770m, through Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine and Yoshidaguchi trail, to the summit of Mt. Fuji, the highest peak in Japan, for about 21km. The height difference is as great as app. 3,000m, the largest in Japan, and less of 50% of the runners complete the full distance. The race has a summit course and a course to the fifth station.
