A world class marathon race to the summit of Mt. Fuji!
This mountain race staged on Mt. Fuji is one of the most prominent marathon races in Japan, and is held on the fourth Friday of July every year. The racing route is about 21km from the City Hall of Fujiyoshida City at the altitude of 770m, through Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine up the Yoshida trail, to the summit of Mt. Fuji, the highest peak in Japan. Less of 50% of the runners complete the full distance. The race has a summit course and a course to the fifth station.
